The original idea was for a journal that you keep for your kids. She had just taken a plain compositions notebook and put their name on it. Very Simple and it that works for you Awesome. I decided to decorate my journals so they are a little more personal. For the journaling part, it can be as simple as a quick note of something they said that day that was funny, or a detailed story of something about them, what they did, whatever you want. I feel like this is one of the greatest gifts I can give my kids. Little memories of them. We forget things so easily no matter how cute it is. I am going to keep these in my kitchen so that they are easily available for when they make their cute little comments. The other journal I made is for my hubby. A place where I can leave him little quick love notes. As the gal said where I found it. We do all these cute little love notes when we are dating and first married but as life and kids get in the way we forget. So here is a place where we can keep them all in one spot and go back and read them if we want.
Supplies needed
1 composition notebook (I found these for $1.00 at Wal-Mart)
scrapbook paper
mode podge
embelishments
1st cut your paper to size
2nd Lay out how you want to do it with ribbons buttons and whatever else you decide to add
3rd. paint mode podge on the cover of the composition book
4th lay your paper down and allow to dry
5th add your second layer of mode podge on the notebook.
6th.Add your embelishments and designs. wether it be by mode podge, glue gun, tape, Whatever you use.
7th If you want to add paper to the inside cover you can.
I made one for each of my kids. I figure as the journal fills up and I need to make a new one I can cordinate the paper to match their personality and age.
We had to make two for Karli. She wants to start keeping a journal for herself
And last but not least my Love Journal for my hubby.
My kids love little notebooks, these would be great to turn some dollar store notebooks into something so much more special.
